Following further arrests of Kurdish activists and civilians in the city of Marivan, two other civilians “Shaho Akhtar Kawan” and “Hamdi Akhtar Kawan” have been arrested after being summoned to the Marivan’s Intelligence Office.
“Hamdi Akhtar Kawan, from Balbar village of Huraman and resident of Marivan, was arrested on July 14, 2019 after being summoned to the Marivan Intelligence Office. Moreover, a young student “Shahu Akhtar Kawan” was summoned and arrested last week.”, a reliable source in the city of Marivan has told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
These people, along with 8 other civilians and activists from Marivan who have been arrested in recent days, have been transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj.
Since July 14, 2019, at least 10 Kurdish activists and civilians have been arrested in Marivan including Ali Rezaee, Omid Salehi, Fateh Hooshmand, Goran Ghorbani, Yadgar Deljoo, Khaled Souri, Abdullah Weissi, and Parvin Adwai.
