Zeynab Ismaili, a member of the “Kurdish Peace Mothers”, has been detained in Dehgolan since February 27 and she is interrogated by security forces, a source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“She has only been able to make one short phone call to her family since her arrest, and her family’s follow-up visits and attempts to deliver her medications to the prison officials have failed”, the source added.

According to the source, this member of the “Kurdish Peace Mothers” is being transferred daily to the Sanandaj Intelligence Bureau for interrogation and returned to the Sanandaj Correctional Center at night. Zeynab Ismaili, the mother of Mohammed Amiri, is a member of the People’s Protection Units under the umbrella organization of “Hawre Leylax”. Mohammed Amiri was killed in 2014 while defending the People’s Protection Units from the city of Kobani against the ISIL attack.

“Kurdish Peace Mothers” Group was founded by a number of mothers of Kurdish political prisoners and Kurdish executed citizens. These mothers have declared their goal to help bring about peace and justice in Kurdistan.

In recent years, the security agencies are putting increasing pressures on the Kurdistan citizens by repeatedly summoning members of Kurdish Peace Mothers, especially in the cities of Sanandaj, Marivan and Dehgolan.
