A Kurdish civil rights activist, who was arrested in November protests, has been released on bail of 200 million Tomans from Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah, an informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Khalil Asadi Bojani was arrested at his family home in Jafarabad, Kermanshah, on November 20, 2019, and he was transferred to the Dieselabad Prison on December 23 from the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre.

“Khalil Asadi Bojani was subjected to severe physical and mental torture at the time of his arrest. He lost 15 kg.”, a source close to the activist told KHRN.

His hearing was held on February 10, 2020, at Branch 3 of the Kermanshah Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Asadi. He was sentenced to 3 and half years in prison on the charge of “association and collusion against national security” and 3 years in prison on the charge of “membership in opposition groups.” According to Article 5 of the Islamic Penal Code, 3 years and a half of the afore-mentioned imprisonment sentences is enforceable.

In an interview with KHRN, his lawyer “Mustafa Ahmadian” had earlier stated that the Kermanshah Revolutionary Court had charged his client with “attending the November protests and sending related news and photos to other people”.
