A wounded Kurdish border porter –known as Kolbar- “Khezer Binava” from the village of Korbinaw in Sardasht, died after 10 days in a hospital in Mahabad due to serious injuries, local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

He was shot and severely wounded by the shooting of Iranian border guards in the Kani Sew area of Sardasht on Dec 22.  

Another Kolbar, Mohammad Rashidzadeh, was also shot and killed. Earlier, a source close to the Kolbar’s family told KHRN that the Border Guards had left the wounded Kolbar and the body of the killed Kolbar unattended. 

KHRN released a report on January 05 regarding the death of Kolbars in the year 2019. According to this report,79 Kolbars and the Kurdish tradesmen were killed by Iran’s military forces or lost their life due to natural disasters and insecurity along the Kolbari’s passage while 165 Kolbars and tradesmen were injured in 2019.
