Iran court jails two Kurdish political prisoners for five years
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Court in Orumiyeh has sentenced two Kurdish defendants, Kamran Mousazadeh and Fakhreddin Esris, to five years in prison, respectively.
They were sentenced on charges of cooperation with an outlawed Kurdish political party.
A source said that intelligence agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) arrested the two Kurds back in August on suspicion of links with a Kurdish party in the Shno (Oshnavieh) area.
They were first jailed at IRGC’s detention facilities before their relocation to Orumiyeh prison.
Political prisoner on hunger strike over 80 days publishes open letter
Iranian political prisoner Muhammad Nazari has been on hunger strike for 81 days and urges an end to his imprisonment in an open letter, saying he has spent four years behind bars in addition to his initial 20-year prison sentence.
“I am the loneliest prisoner,” he said in his open letter on 18 October.
“I have been on hunger strike for 81 days with the hope that someone may heed my demands and help me. I was eligible for release four-and-a-half-years ago based on articles 10, 99, 120 and 728 of Iran’s New Islamic Penal Code, but unfortunately, the authorities have prevented enforcing the regulations in my case,” he said.
He added: “I have no other option other than going on to go on a hunger strike and hope that my fellow human beings hear my voice …Your helping hand is my only hope for the freedom to which I am legally entitled.”

Iranian Kurdish political prisoner taken to solitary cell
The authorities of Orumiyeh Central Prison have taken a Kurdish political prisoner, Mostafa Davoodi, to solitary confinement for unknown reasons.
“This political prisoner has been denied the right to call and visit his family and no information has yet been received regarding his situation,” a source has said.
Davoodi, from Mahabad, was arrested in 2009 and sentenced to 10 years in prions by the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad on charges of membership in an outlawed Kurdish political organisation.
He has served 8 years and 8 months of his prison term in Mahabad and Orumiyeh prisons.
Iran border guards kill young Kurdish Kolbar worker
Iranian border guards have opened fire on a group of Kurdish Kolbar workers killing 24-year-old Peshtiwan Moein in the Sardasht area, locals and Kurdish Kolbars in the area have said,
Moein was killed with two bullets to his head, sources said.
The Iranian government guards seized his items and left the area after they shot him dead, a Kurdish Kolbar working in the area said.
The Sardasht town and its surrounding border areas have been the deadliest places for unarmed civilian Kurdish Kolbar workers over the past years, according to KHRN’s statistics.

Iran forces injure Kurdish Kolbar, strip search others in Sardasht
Iranian border guards wounded a Kurdish Kolbar worker and detained several others in the same area in an abusive way for no legal reasons.
Local sources said the Iranian border guards abused the Kurdish Kolbars.
The guards had strip searched the Kolbar workers and forced them to leave their shoes and clothes behind before letting them leave in the cold weather.
