According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), two Kurdish border porters (locally known as Kolbar) were killed and 15 others were injured in February. 11 Kolbars were injurd by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s border guards, three were injured after they fell from mountains and one suffered injuries under torture by the guards.
The gathered statistics also show that 23 civilians were arrested or sent to prisons in various cities of Iran’s Kurdistan during February. Six were transferred to prison to serve sentences while the remaining 17 civilians were taken to be held at security detention facilities.
