Two prisoners lost their life on 18 December due to the delay in being transferred to a hospital outside the Orumiyeh Central Prison, a source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN). 

Ali Paya from the Workers’ Ward and Amir Naji Vash from Ward 2 were under treatment at the Orumiyeh Central Prison’s clinic for several hours due to suffering from flu, however, the two prisoners died for the prison officilas failed to transfer them to a hospital outside the prison.

Paya and Vash were over 50 years old and were held in prison on drug-related charges, added the source.

Ali Paya was arrested a year and a half ago and sentenced to five years in prison. Amir Naji Vash was arrested about a year ago and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
