Two labour activists, “Seyed Ali Hosseini” and “Kamran Sakhtemangar”, were arrested by security forces in Saqqez and transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Bureau on Sept 4, 2019.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has obtained information that security forces detained Sayed Ali Hosseini in his private garden near the village of Saqqez, along with another labour activist known as Kamran Sakhtemangar, on September 4.

The two activists were initially transferred to Sanandaj Intelligence bureau after being arrested. Seyyed Ali Hosseini was released after several hours of interrogation but Kamran Sakhtemangar was transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj for further interrogations.

One week ago, on Aug 29, 2019, security forces raided Kamran Sakhtemangar’s house in order to arrest him. His car and a number of his family’s personal belongings including mobile phones and laptop were confiscated upon searching the house. However, due to the absence of Sakhtemangar from home, the security forces were not able to arrest him.
