The Iranian border guards in the border region of Chuman Baneh targeted a group of kolbars and tradesmen. As a result, two tradesmen were wounded.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that Iranian border guards were targeted a group of kolbars and border tradesmen in the Chuman area of Baneh on Nov 19, 2018. As a result of direct shooting of guards, two tradesmen known as Loghman Fattahi and Loghman Alam from the village of Armardeh of Baneh were wounded. The two injured kolbars were transferred to the hospital in Sulaimaniyah of, Iraqi Kurdistan by the local people and are currently undergoing medical treatment.

As the weather has become colder, the number of seasonal workers turning into kolbari- i.e. working as Kolbars- in the border area has increased. Meanwhile, the border guards continue to target kolbars without any prior warning.

It is worth mentioning that many Kolbars are either wounded or killed due to natural factors such as avalanches fall, falling from height, etc. in addition to direct shooting of the border forces.
