Two members of the Kurdistan Freedom Party, Hoshmand Alipour and Mohammad Ostadghader, were transferred to the prison quarantine of Saqqez after 108 days of detention at the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Facility.

These two political prisoners have visited their families once briefly on Oct 28 and 29 at the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Facility in the city of Sanandaj with the presence of interrogators.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that these two political prisoners were transferred to the Saqqez Prison on Nov 19, 2018 by the temporary dictum of detention of the Ministry of Intelligence in Sanandaj. The prison authorities have deprived them of the right to call and visit their family.

As a result of the interdiction of the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, the attorney of these two political prisoners has not been able to succeed in obtaining a power of attorney from them yet and there is no information about their trial process.

Hoshmand Alipour and Mohammad Ostadghader members of the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), were arrested on Saturday, Aug 3, 2018 in Saqqez Road in Baneh. The security forces initially transferred these two prisoners to the Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Facility in the city of Baneh and then to the Intelligence Ministry’s Central Detention Facility in the city of in Sanandaj.

Since their arrest, the two prisoners have briefly called their families and informed them that they were held at a security detention centre.

Amnesty International has expressed its concern about the confessions of these two detained activists in September by publishing a statement. “On 7 August, Iran’s state news agency, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), broadcasted a programme showing these prisoners confessing to playing a role in the attack on the Security Base in Saqqez. This measure is a clear violation of the rights of detainees as they should not be forced to confess against themselves and enjoy the principle of innocence and protection from cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment.”
