Two Kurdish Kolbars were shot dead and wounded after being directly shot by the border guards in Orumiyeh.

An informed source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, on the evening of 22 June, a group of kurdish kolbars (Border Couriers) were attacked by the Iranian border guards and two Kurdish Kolbars were shot dead and wounded in “Wargenem” area on the border between Orumiyeh and Turkey as a result of direct shootings of guards. “Murad Arabi”, age 34 father of three, from “Anbi village”of Orumiyeh is the name of the dead Kolbar and another Kolbar by the name of “Kardin Arabpour” was severely injured.

The source added, “The kolbars were carrying Tobacco from Iran to Turkey when they were targeted by the border police. Murad Arabi entered the Turkish territory after being injured, but died one hour later, due to the severe injuries. The military forces of the Wargenem in Turkey transferred the body of this Kolbar to the Iran’s checkpoint and, after several hours, The victim’s family managed to deliver the corpse and buried him in the village of his birthplace.

The source said, “The wounded kolber is still in Turkey and has not managed to return to Iran until now. Also, during the shooting, at least 15 horses of Kolbars have also been killed.

Recently, Mohammad Masaeli Fard, the Kolbar from Mirawi and Sirwan Azizi, from Sardasht who was carrying several cartons of cigarettes were killed by the direct shot of the border guards in different places.

In the past few days, 250 Kurdish political and civil activists from Iran’s Kurdistan in a statement declared their deep concerns on the increased violence employed by the Iran regime forces in their treatment of the Kolbars. These Kurdish activists believe that the indiscriminate shootings of Kolbars by the Iran forces has led to ongoing tragic events.
