A group of Kurdish border porters –known as Kolbar- and tradesmen were shot dead near the Kani Zard village of Sardasht on 9 November, local media reported.

According to the reports, two Kolbars from the Savan village of Sardasht, Siamand Mohammad Abdullah, 19, and Sirwan Hassan Abdullah, 25, were injured during the shooting.

The two injured Kolbars were reportedly taken to the Shahidan Hospital in Qaladzeh, the Iraqi Kurdistan, for medical treatment.

According to statistics compiled by the KHRN, five Kurdish Kolbars and tradesmen were killed and 12 others were wounded only in October. A Kolbar also collapsed and died as a result of being chased by the Iranian border guards.
