Due to the leniency shown by the victim’s family, three prisoners were saved from execution and transferred back to the prison.
Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that two prisoners “Shahin Gholami” and “Mohammad Teymouri” from ward 1-2 of Orumiyeh Central Prison and Nader Hajizadeh from Khoy Prison, who had been transferred to solitary confinement cells yesterday in anticipation of enforcing their death sentences, were saved from the execution due to leniency shown by the victim’s family. These people are convicted of murder and they are obliged to pay the blood money “Diye” to the victim’s family in return for the leniency shown by them.
