In the past few days, three detainees from Baneh, who had been arrested during street celebrations in support of the referendum for Kurdistan Independence, were released on bail.

Reports received by Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) indicate that three Baneh citizens -including Fouad Hossein Zadeh, Zanyar Maroufi and Naseh Khazari- arrested on the evening of Monday, Sept 25, 2017, were released on bail on Saturday, Oct 14, 2017. These Kurdish citizens had been arrested after being summoned to Intelligence Detention Centre of Baneh due to participating in the street celebrations in support of the referendum for Kurdistan Independence,

On the evening of Monday, Sept 25, 2017, security forces identified a number of participants at the ceremony in Pirmorad Park of Baneh held in honour of the referendum for Kurdistan Independence.

During the following days, at least seven Baneh citizens were summoned and arrested due to participating in this ceremony.

According to one of the participants in the ceremony, the security forces were unable to take any measures during the ceremony due to the mass attendance of the people in Pirmorad park. Therefore, a number of citizens were summoned and arrested the next day.

The arrested citizens were interrogated at the Intelligence Detention Centre of the Baneh for three days before being transferred to the prison. Finally, according to the information received by KHRN, Fouad Hosseinzadeh was temporarily released on the bail of 50 million Tomans while Naseh Khezri and Zanyar Maroufi were released on the bail of 100 million Tomans until the court hearings.

Dozens of Kurdish citizens arrested during street celebrations in support of the referendum for Kurdistan Independence are still being held in the Detention Centres except for some detainees who were recently released on bail.
