Two Kurdish civil activists called Sirus Abasi and his wife “Farideh Weissi”, residents of Dehgolan, were arrested by security forces at their workplace (Zanest school) and taken to an unknown location on January 14, informed sourced told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Azad Abasi, the brother of Sirus Abbasi who is also an environmental activist, have also been reportedly arrested when he went to the Dehgolan Intelligence Office to make enquiries about the arrest of Sirus Abasi and Farideh Weissi. 

Up to the moment of setting up this news, no specific information has been released as to the reason for the arrest and detention of these activists.

Sirus Abasi had earlier been arrested by the Intelligence Unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on August 09 for criticising the performance of Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and released on bail after 4 days.
