During the past four days, two Kurdish Border Porters –known as Kolbar- were killed and two others were wounded at the Khoy and Sardasht borders in the West Azarbaijan province by the direct shooting of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s border guards. Another Kolbar also lost his life due to falling from the border heights of Baneh in Kurdistan province.

“A Kolbar named “Kamran Molania” was shot dead by the military forces in the border area of “Bardepan” in Sardasht on Tuesday, May 13. He was 32 years old and father of a 5-year-old child.”, local sources told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

According to another report, on the morning of Saturday, May 10, the Iranian border guards fired directly at a group of Kolbars near the village of “Bolshoor Sofla” in Khoy, killing a kolbar named “Loghman Chahargoosheh”. Two others, Mansour Mohammadi and Meysam Mohammadi, were also injured in this incident. According to an informed source in Khoy, border guards even opened fire on a crowd of people who had gone to the area to help the wounded and remove the dead bodies.

A well-informed source in Baneh also told KHRN that a 29-year-old kolbar “Keyvan Kowsari” died on the way to the “Chouman” border in Baneh due to falling from heights. He was 29 years old and the father of two children.
