According to Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), on Saturday, May 13, an official in Orumiyeh Central Prison has announced from the prisons loudspeaker that participation in presidential and municipal council elections for all prisoners is mandatory and any prisoners who would not participate in these elections, will be deprived of the right to have regular visits, cabin visits and conjugal visit for three times.
Peyman Khanzadeh, the head deputy of Orumiyeh prison, has asked the prisoners to contact their families to deliver the birth certificate of prisoners as soon as possible for participation in upcoming elections.
It should be noted in previous election, many prisoners, except several political prisoners have been forced to participate in the elections and prison officials were forced them to vote for Saeed Jalili.
