The fate of a Kurdish Environmental Activist, Kaveh Babamoradi who was arrested on June 20, 2018, is still uncertain. This detained activist is held at the Ministry of Intelligence detention Centre in the city of Sanandaj.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that he had been able to call his family several times during more than 6 months of detention. However, he has not been allowed to call his family for the past two months and his family is completely unaware of his fate.

Despite repeated consistent enquiries made to the court and Ministry of Intelligence during the past six months, so far the family of this activist has not been able to visit him. The prosecutor’s office in Sanandaj has prevented a lawyer from meeting with Kaveh Babamaradi on the pretext of ongoing interrogations.

Another detained environmental activist, Shegard Golabi, who arrested by security forces in Sanandaj on Oct 17, 2018, was temporarily released on a bail of 300,000 Rials from the Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj last week after 46 days of interrogations.
