The court hearing of Kurdish activist known as Najibeh Salehzadeh was held at the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that on Tuesday, March 06, the hearing for Najibeh Salehzadeh’s was held at the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez (Branch 1) on charges of propaganda against the system through interviews with foreign media abroad.

“If defending my husband (Mahmoud Salehi) is propaganda against the regime, I have nothing to say,” said the civil activist at the court hearing in response to her charge.

The trial lasted half an hour, and the judge announced that the verdict will be served via the court’s electronic system in the coming weeks.

Najibeh Salehzadeh, (Mahmoud Salehi’s wife), a labour activist, was previously arrested in June 2017 following an indictment filed by Saqqez Intelligence bureau in of the Saqqez Court of Justice (Branch 2) on the alleged charge of “propaganda against the regime” and “insulting the supreme leader”. However, she was acquitted of the charges by the court due to lack of evidence in this regard.
