Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN): Sanandaj intelligence Office has banned Kak Hashim Hossein Panahi, a well-known religious activist, in Kurdistan from travelling to Zahedan.

“During a telephone call from the Kurdistan Intelligence Office, Professor Kak Hashim Hossein Panahi, a teacher at the Imam Bukhari Religious School of Sanandaj, was banned from participating at the graduation ceremony of Religious scholars in Zahedan. It is worth noting that the afore-mentioned Sunni Kurdish scholar and a group of other religious scholars delegated by Professor Kak Hasan Amini- the religious leader of Kurdistan, attended this annual gathering last year and made a speech.”, The Kurdistan Shari’a Office explained in a statement

Earlier on April 11, the office of Hassan Amini, the popular religious scholar of Kurdistan, announced the release of a statement by the Sanandaj Intelligence Office regarding his visit and participation at the ceremony.

It is worth mentioning that this activist was summoned by the Special Court for the Clergy of Hamedan on September 18, regarding his participation at the funeral ceremony of Ramin Hussein Penahi, a political prisoner who was executed on September 08, 2018. The court charged him with propaganda against the state and influencing the public opinion on account of participating at this ceremony and issued a bail for his release. He was also summoned to the branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary court of Sanandaj in March last year for investigations about propaganda against the state and disturbing the public opinion.
