Following the strike and protests in some parts of Iran, including Tehran capital’s Grand Bazaar, a number of the merchants in Kermanshah Bazaar have held a strike against the collapse of the Rials value on the foreign exchange market.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that the majority of shopkeepers in the Kermanshah’s Arg shopping centre have joined the nationwide protests by closing their shops on June 25.

According to various sources in the city, anti-riot and special forces troops have also confronted with a number of protesters to force them to open their shops.

Moreover, on the second day of the protests (June 26), Soroush and Zargaran markets in Kermanshah followed the strike by Arg shopkeepers of the Hafez shopping centre by closing their shops and holding gatherings in protest to the devaluation of Rials.

Reports from Kermanshah indicate that the Special Forces have also been deployed to end protests in areas where commercial complexes and major markets in the city of Kermanshah, known as the Tarike Bazar, are based.
