Two Kurdish activists were sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment in total on charges of “propaganda against the regime” by Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that, on April 25, the trial of two activists known as Jafar Amini and Hamed Sepehri was held at the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh on charges of “propaganda against the state”.

Both activists, members of Welat environmental association, were arrested on, March 14 during the protest against Turkish attack on Kurds in Afrin. They were transferred to Intelligence Ministry’s Detention Centre in the city of Orumiyeh but later (on April 18) they were temporarily released on a bail of 50 million Tomans.

The verdict, according to which Hamed Sepehri and Jafar Amini were sentenced to one-year and 6 months of imprisonment respectively, has been officially served on these two activists.
