Kurdish Human Rights Network (KHRN): Kermanshah Security Polices visited the house of Shahriar Tahmasebi’s mother to arrest this Kurdish activist and transfer him to prison to serve his two years imprisonment sentence, but he was not at home. The officers also seized the personal laptop of Tahmasebi when searching the house.

Shahriar Tahmasebi and four other cultural activists were arrested by security forces in the protest gathering against killing Kolbars in Kermanshah’s park-e-Kodak in 2017 but they were released 28 days later on a bail of 100 million Tomans.

A year later, he was re-arrested for the same case and he was sentenced to two years in prison on charges of participation in protest gathering and conspiracy by the Branch 3 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah chaired by Judge Asadi. This verdict was approved by the branch 5 of Court of Appeals in Kermanshah Province.

The cultural activist was arrested again last month during the arrest of Kurdish cultural activists by Kermanshah Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and released after 83 days on a bail of 250 million Tomans. The outcome of this case has not been concluded yet.
