Runak Aghayi, the activist from Mahabad, was transferred to the Mahabad Prison for endorsement of her six-month sentence which was finalised and summoned by the Orumieh Court of Appeals.
Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that on Apr 4, 2018, the activist who had been sentenced to six months in prison on charges of propaganda against the system through participation in the support gatherings of the Iraqi Kurdistan independence referendum.
Runak Aghayi (a former political prisoner of the 1980s) who was arrested on Sept 25, 2017 during the streets calibration in Mahabad was released from Orumiyeh prison on a bail of 200 million Tomans after being interrogated 15 days at the Orumiyeh Intelligence Detention Centre on Oct 10, 2017..
This activist was subsequently sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad to six months in prison on charges of propaganda against the system through participation in the support gatherings of the Iraqi Kurdistan referendum. She appealed against the verdict and her case was referred to the Orumiyeh Court of Appeals.
The verdict was approved by Orumiyeh Court of Appeals in the past few days, and she was summoned by Revolutionary Courts to endorse her sentence yesterday.
