The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) announced that 5 Kurdish border porters –known as Kolbar- and tradesmen have been killed while 13 others have been injured by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military forces or due to natural disasters along the Kolbari routes during the past month.

According to statistics, two Kolbars were targeted by military forces and died in the hospital due to the severity of injuries sustained.10 people of the above-mentioned casualties were injured by direct firing of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military forces and border guards while 3 others were injured due to falling from the heights in the border.

Most of the casualties happened at the border area of Sardasht where 2 were dead and 2 others were wounded. 3 people were also injured at the Khoy border area. Statistics show that all these people have been injured or killed as a result of shooting by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As in previous years, the systematic killing of the Kurdish Kolbars continues. According to the statistics released by the KHRN, 79 Kolbars and Kurdish tradesmen have been killed while 165 have been injured by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military forces or due to natural disasters along the Kolbari routes during the past year.
