A reliable source has told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that Ahmad Amookhteh, who had been held at the Orumiyeh Central Prison for nearly 11 years on financial charges, was transferred to the prison’s clinic after becoming unconscious but he lost his life due to the delay in hospitalization.

A part of his body had been paralyzed due to a heart attack 5 years ago. According to the above source. Orumiyeh’s Forensic Officer had previously confirmed that he was unable to bear his prison term. Consistent attempts of this prisoner’s family for his release or transfer to Evin prison in Tehran as the place of their residence failed.
