A Kurdish border porter (known as Kolbar) named Jamal Balaki was injured in a fall from the heights of the Tata Heraman border. Other Kolbars have reportedly taken Jamal Balaki to a medical centre in Marivan after he was injured.

Tata Hawraman defile is one of the highest heights and rainiest border areas of Kurdistan. In the past few years, a large number of Kolbars have been injured or lost their life. In late December, two young Kolbars, Azad Khosravi and his brother Farhad Khosravi, died after being stuck in the snow and cold.

According to statistics released by the Iranian Statistical Center, Iranian Kurdistan has the highest inflation and unemployment rate in the entire country. Therefore, residents of these areas are forced to work as Kolbars to earn a living. Dozens of Kolbars and tradesmen are killed or injured each year on the pretext of smuggling goods by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yesterday, a Kolbar called Jamal Balaki was injured as a result of falling from the Border Heights of the #Tatah Hawraman border. He was transferred to a medical centre in Marivan, with the help of other Kolbars.
With inflation and unemployment rising, people are increasingly turning to working as Kolbars.
