Zeynab Jalalian’s lawyer, AmirSalar Dawoodi submitted a petition to Chief Prosecutor and stated that his client has not been taking her medication.

According to Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) The lawyer has released a letter in his telegram channel and announced that Kurdish political prisoner Zeynab Jalalian, has been refusing to take her vital medications since march 16, in order to protest the prison administration’s inhumane practices and denial of her access to hospital.

Zeynab Jalalian, aged 35, was a political activist working to empower Iran’s ethnic minority Kurds, particularly women. Jalalian was arrested in 2008 on a road in Kermanshah. She was initially sentenced to death for her alleged membership in the Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK), and alleged armed activities against The Islamic Republic of Iran. The death sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment in 2009.

Mr.Dawoodi warned that Xoy prison administration and Orumiyeh Court were responsible for Jalalian’s state of health and his client will continue to refuse to take her medication until all inhumane practices come to an end.

He has announced in a letter he has sent to Iran intelligence minister earlier, he warned her client needs urgent medical treatment for her eye and tongue infections and has not received adequate care in prison. He stated that in March 10 in a phone call from prison, Jalalian stated that she is suffering from septic boils on her tongue and she has a surfer’s eye because she has been afflicted with Pterygium) A pterygium is a pinkish, triangular tissue growth on the cornea of the eye. (That causing problems with her sight. She added its also one year past after she visited by a doctor. But Her Symptom and medical sign started since 2014. Unfortunately prison officials, including the head of the Xoy prison (in West Azerbaijan Province) D.B and the prison doctor Z.R did not any action to transfer Jalalian elsewhere for the usual medical treatment. However, my client frequently asked for transferring her to a specialist or a equipped hospital that all these requests rejected. Therefore, any claims of prison authorities, especially in recent months are false.

Since her arrest nine years ago, Jalalian has suffered severe human rights abuses at the hands of Iranian authorities, including torture, which have caused a lasting harm to her physical and mental health. She has not been allowed to leave prison for a single day on furlough despite being incarcerated for nearly nine years in prison. Three months ago, her toe broken in prison and the authorities didn’t take her to hospital. Finally, after a lot of suffering one of the prisoners with traditional medicine knowledge helped her. She didn’t have any medical visit since last year, even by the doctor or clinic of prison.

An informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network that M. Jalalian has been under pressure to make a TV confession. Recently, The Iranian Intelligence Agency (Vezarat-e Ettela’at Jomhuri-ye Eslami-ye Iran), visited Xoy prison and threatened Zeynab several times to put pressure on her for doing the TV confession.

According to the Source since last September Amnesty International run a write for rights campaign for Zeynab Jalalian and ask supporters across the globe that write letters for Zeynab whose basic human rights is being attacked. In this letter people ask the Iranian authorities to release Zeynab from prison and immediately give her the treatments she needs. Thousand letters sent to the prison in Iran.Iranian Intelligence service had threatened Zeynab not to talk to international organisations about her situation.
