More than 300 civilians have been arrested by security forces since mass protests shook Iran in opposition of skyrocketing petrol prices of which 50 of them have been released on bail of 30- 60 million Tomans in recent days, local sources in Sanandaj told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
According to civilians who were recently released, the detained protesters are being held in the detention centres of the Intelligence Bureau, the security police and the Shahramifar Intelligence Detention Center in Sanandaj. More than 100 civilians, including students and children, are also being held in the camp of the Guard of Beit el Moghadas in harsh conditions.
Additionally, as per the photos obtained by the KHRN, members of the Revolutionary Guards’ Basij have been key elements in suppressing the popular protests in Sanandaj on 16 and 17 November.
