One Kolbar has been killed and another one injured in the border areas of Oshnavieh (Shno in Kurdish) and Orumiyeh by direct shooting of the Iranian border guards yesterday.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that the border guards of Kile Shin of Shno opened fire on a group of the Kolbars on Monday morning, December 06, and immediately left the area.

A few hours after the shooting, the body of one of these kolbars, Abdul Qadir Salehian was found by local people and other kolbars. The corpse of this Kolbar, who lost his life due to severe bleeding, was taken to the Forensic Medicine of Shno. He was married with four children and he was a resident of Dizaj Margavar of Orumiyeh.

Later that same day, another kolbar, Omar Nebzadeh was injured by the shooting of border guards in the border area of Dalapar of Orumiyeh.

Last week, three other kolbars were killed in the Baneh and Piranshahr border areas by the direct shooting of Iranian border guards. However, despite the increase of killings of kolbars and tradesmen by border guards, the border guard commander, Sardar Qasem Rezaie named kolbars “smugglers”  while maintaining that “smuggling” of goods is not a job and anyone crossing the unofficial areas steps over the “red line” of border guards. In other words, Qasem Rezaie believes that the border guards are merely conforming to the regulations and supports their action.
