According to reports received by Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), a Kolbar, Bakhtiar Hassani from Blesan village of Baneh was killed at the border area of Hangeh Jal by direct shooting of the Iranian border guards on February 17, 2019.
According to another report, a kolbar called Osman Mam Hasan from Piranshahr was shot on Thursday, February 14 by the border guards near the village of Piran and injured on the foot.
“Some people consider Kolber as a smuggler; anyone who wants to cross the borderline point and border security boundaries for which they are intended to travel is no longer considered a Kolbor, but an unauthorised passer (Iranian) or an aggressor (foreign citizen) is considered a criminal offender.”, Kiumars Sheikh- the commander of the Kurdistan province border region stated in response to the Tasnim reporter’s question of whether Kolbars carrying out this activity legally would be pursued by border guards. Meanwhile, killing of Kolbars at various border regions of Kurdistan still continues.
