Several days after the murder of a Kollbar at the Nosoud border from Kermanshah, it has been discovered that he had been targeted by the direct shooting of the Iranian border guards although he was not carrying any illegal cargo.

An eyewitness has told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that Azim Ahmadi, the kolbar, who was killed in Sufi-i-Jin by Shusmini soldiers of the Noosud districton Sept 30, 2018, had been shot dead even though he had not been carrying any cargo.

According to this eyewitness, after being confronted by two border guards, Azim Ahamadi has asked the aforementioned guards not to shoot him, but one of the soldiers called “ Y.G ” has targeted this kolbar from a 10-meter distance and killed him.

The source has further stated that the two soldiers left the body of this kolbar and returned to the Shusmini border guards’ base. The guard responsible for this Kulbar’s murder was arrested for 24 hours, but he was later released on bail and transferred to the Paveh border base.

Following the blockade of border crossing at the Kurdistan, tens of thousands of Kolbars (who hold the permit for working as a Kolbar) have been unemployed. Despite the dangers of Illegal kolbari (carrying goods across the border as a Kolbar), these Kulbars have turned to kolbari in mountainous areas. Along with the blockade of borders, the systematic killings of kolbars and border businessmen have been alarming over the past few months. According to statistics compiled by KHRN, at least 15 kolbars have been killed by direct shooting of Iranian military forces in the last three months while at least 20 kolbars have been wounded.

Moreover, 3 kolbars have lost their life due to mine blast and falling from the mountains which has been also resulted in the injury of 17 other kolbars.
