Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), Pouria Ahmadi, the head of the Kurdistan branch of the National Unity Party and a member of the Central Council of Sanandaj, was arrested when presenting himself at the Sanandaj Intelligence Office following a summons and then he was transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in this city.

KHRN has obtained information that this activist was telephone summoned to the intelligence office and accordingly arrested by security forces.

Ahmadi was arrested on February 20 by the forces of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) but he was released after 15 days of interrogations on a bail. This activist was transferred to the Besat Hospital in Sanandaj due to gastric bleeding during the arrest.

Four other members of the Kurdistan branch of the National Unity Party are currently being held at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj and their situation is still uncertain after four months.

The National Unity Party held an official license from the Ministry of the Interior and its Kurdistan branch was active in Sanandaj, Marivan, and Kamyaran two years ago. This party was one of the first institutions in Kermanshah to form popular headquarters in the cities of Kurdistan during the last year’s earthquake to help earthquake victims.
