Last night, a Kurdish political prisoner Mostafa Sabzi became unconscious and transferred to the prison Health Center on the 25th day of his hunger strike. He has been on hunger strike since July 23, 2019 in protest to the refusal of prison officials to transfer him to a prison near his parents’ place of residence in Maku.
Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has obtained information that night he who has been on hunger strike along with four other Kurdish political and religious prisoners was transferred to prison health center last night due to low blood pressure. although the Prison doctor has described his health condition as deteriorating, this political prisoner has refused to undergo interavenous injection.
The deputy chief of the prison has met with the political prisoner and urged him to end his hunger strike, but the prisoner has said that he would continue his strike until he was transferred to Maku prison.
The other three prisoners on hunger strike, “Qader Salimi” ,“Bashir Pirmawane” and “Rahmi Turgut” who have been on hunger strike since 25 days ago, is reported to be in critical health condition. Meanwhile, KHRN has previously published a report on the strike of Kamran Darvishi with Sewn Lips at Orumiyeh Central Prison.
Mostafa Sabzi, 24 years old and a Kurdish civilian from Maku, was arrested in one of the villages of Orumiyeh by the Islamic Republic of Iran Guards Corps (IRGC) and interrogated at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Orumiyeh for two months. After completion of the interrogation, he was transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison and sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the Branch 2 of the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court a few months later on charges of membership in the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK). The ruling was also upheld by the Orumiyeh Court of Appeal.
