An Environmental activist “Rashid Naserzadeh” was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment by Branch 101 of Oshnavieh criminal court on charges of “gathering and colluding to commit crimes against national security” and “propaganda against the state”, an informed source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

His trial was held at Branch 101 of the Oshnavieh Criminal Court in February 2019 and the verdict was served on him on March 27, 2020.

Per Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code regarding “Aggregation of Fines”, 5 years of his imprisonment sentence on charges of collusion with the intent to disrupt the national security will be enforceable.

Rashid Naserzadeh, director of the “Shno 24” Telegram Channel and environmental activist, was arrested by security forces on his way back to the Piranshahr city in Oshnavieh by security forces and taken to an unknown location on Tuesday 03, December.

He was released after 45 days on January 16, on a bail of 200 million tomans.
