Kurdish Human Rights Network (KHRN): Hadi Kamangar, an environmental activist and member of the Kurdistan branch of the National Unity Party who was arrested by security forces on January 01, was released on a bail of one billion and seven hundred million Tomans from Sanandaj Central Prison.

This environmental activist was transferred to the Sanandaj Central Prison last week from the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj and the court issued bail bonds of 2 billion Tomans for his release. Upon his family’s protest against the high amount of the bail, the judge of the Islamic Revolutionary court of Kamyaran initially increased it to five billion Tomans which was subsequently decreased into one billion and six hundred million Tomans upon the family’s further protests.

Two other environmental activists, Idris Mohammadi , Sirwan Ghorbani,, are currently awaiting release from Sanandaj Central Prison. But six other Kurdish activists including Hossein Kamangar, Farhad Mohammadi, Farzad Hosseini , Rashed Montazeri, Isa Feizi and Jalal Rostami are still held at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention centre in Sanandaj.
