Kurdish cultural and artistic activist, “Parisa Seifi”, has been detained by the Intelligence Unit of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Sanandaj since November 12 and is under pressure to make a false confession, an informed source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

According to the source, Parisa Seifi’s family has been able to meet her for only a few minutes since her arrest, and security investigators have banned her from making phone calls since about 15 days ago.

The source further said that security investigators had told the cultural activist’s family that they would only be allowed to meet Parisa if they convinced her to confess.

“Parisa Seifi was transferred to IRGC Detention Center after being arrested. She is being questioned at the detention facility during the day and transferred to the Sanandaj Correctional Center at night.

The source added that security investigators had accused her of “collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties” and that her detention had been extended for 10, 15, and 20 days, respectively.
