Kurdish cultural activist and artist “Parisa Seifi” was released from the Sanandaj Correctional Center on a bail of 200 million Tomans after a 15-day hunger strike.

Confirmed the news about the release of Parisa Seifi a source close to the family told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that Parisa Seifi had suffered from severe weight loss, swollen legs and renal haemorrhage during her detention due to her hunger strike and being kept under strict quarantine conditions at the Sanandaj Correctional Center.
“The bail set for Parisa Seifi’s provisional release was initially 500 million tomans, which was reduced to 200 million tomans after her hunger strike.”, the source added.

She was transferred to Tohid Hospital in Sanandaj on February 20, when she was on her 12-day hunger strike but she was transferred back to Sanandaj Correctional Center after a brief examination.

 Seifi had been on a hunger strike since February 8, in protest to the continued uncertainty about her situation and refusal of the authorities to release her on bail. She was transferred to the Sanandaj Court on February 18, but the judge postponed her trial and release on bail again.

She was arrested by security forces on November 12, and then transferred to the Shahramfar Detention Centre of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Sanandaj.

She is accused of collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties.
