Currently, 11 Kurdish civilians and activists detained at the detention center run by the Ministry of Intelligence in the city of Sanandaj and the Women’s Correctional Centre are under pressure by security investigators to make forced confessions, sources told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

According to sources close to the family of some of the detainees who have been able to meet them briefly in recent days, Sanandaj Intelligence interrogators have completed their interrogation process but their release on bail has been subjected to forced confessions and co-operation with the intelligence interrogators.

This week, Kambiz Asadi and Arman Vafaie were released on bail from the detention center run by the Ministry of Intelligence in the city of Sanandaj.

Arman Vafaie was released on Saturday, February 08, on a bail of 200 million Tomans. This Kurdish civil activist was arrested by security forces on December 17.

Kambiz Asadi, an artist and music director at Denge Chia Music School, was also released on bail in recent days. He was detained on January 17 by security forces in Kamyaran and then taken to the detention center run by the Ministry of Intelligence in the city of Sanandaj.

Leila Tirandari, a nurse and former head of the Women branch of National Unity Party in Kurdistan who had been on a hunger strike since her arrest on December 28, ended her strike about a month after the promise of authorities to release her on bail. KHRN had earlier reported that she had suffered from pressure drop and weight loss following a hunger strike. The civil activist is currently at the Correctional Center in Sanandaj and her interrogation is over.

Last week, a group of security forces moved Herseh Khosravi to his family home in the suburbs of Sanandaj to search his home and then returned him to the detention centre in Sanandaj. Hersesh Khosravi has been detained since mid-December.

Dr Omid Modaresi, a well-known dentist and civil activist in Marivan who was arrested by security forces in February and then transferred to the detention center run by the Ministry of Intelligence in the city of Sanandaj , is still under arrest and interrogation.

Parisa Safi, who had been transferred to the ward before being held at the Quarantine of the Corrections Centre (Women’s Prison) in Sanandaj, is still detained. The Sanandaj Revolutionary Court is refusing to annul his temporary arrest warrant. A Kurdish cultural and artistic activist known “Parisa Seifi” has been detained by the IRGC Intelligence Unit [known as Shahramfar Detention centre] in Sanandaj since November 12.

Farideh Weissi, Sirus Abbasi and Azad Abbasi- members of the Green Chia Lailakh community who were detained by security forces in Dehgolan on January 15- are still being questioned at the Sanandaj Intelligence Bureau. Sirus Abbasi and his wife, Farideh Weissi, were arrested at their workplace at Zanest School. Azad Abbasi, the brother of Sirus Abbasi, was also detained after going to the Dehgolan Intelligence Office to follow up their case.

After several weeks of detention, Fardin Moradi and Goran Yousefi are still being questioned at the detention centre in Sanandaj. Another civil activist, Akbar Guili who was detained after attending a court in Sanandaj on December 8, is being held in the detention centre. Madeh Ahmadi- a resident of “Sarhooyeh” village in Sanandaj who was detained on Friday, January 3, after security forces raided his family’s home in the village- still remains in custody. After being detained, he was transferred to the detention center run by the Ministry of Intelligence in the city of Sanandaj and he has not had any contacts or visits with his family so far.
