A Kurdish civilian called “Voria Faraji” from Ney village has been transferred to jail for serving his two-year sentence, an informed source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Marivan Revolutionary Court in March last year on charges of “membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran(PDKI)”. Upon contesting the verdict, the Sanandaj Court of Appeal upon reduced his imprisonment term to 2 years.

Vooria Faraji was arrested on July 11 2019, along with another civilian called “Hoshyar Kasraie” and taken to the Sanandaj Intelligence Bureau.

He was finally released on a bail of 120 million tomans on August 16 after 34 days of interrogation.
