Farooq Khani, a Kurdish civilian from the village of Sharifabad of Diwandara,Kurdistan province, has been sent to Sanandaj Central Prison to serve his seven-month imprisonment sentence.
The Kurdish civilian was arrested on Sept 12, 2019, by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and released on bail on Oct 7, 2019.
Khani was sentenced by a Sanandaj Revolutionary Court late last year to one year in prison on charges of “collaborating with a Kurdish opposition party,” which was reduced to seven months in prison on appeal.
