A Kurdish Civilian from the Nay village of Marivan, has been sent to prison for serving his one-year imprisonment sentence, a source told the Kurdish Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Salman Afra was arrested by security forces on November 18, 2019, and taken to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj. He was eventually released on a bail of 200 million tomans after being detained and interrogated for 3 months.

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Marivan Revolutionary Court in March 2019 for “cooperation with the Democratic Party of Kurdistan”.Upon contesting the 5-year imprisonment sentence, it was eventually reduced to 1 year by Sanandaj Court of Appeal.
