Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that a Kurdish civilian named Basam Moradi was released on a bail of 500 million tomans from Kamyaran prison. The court in Kamyaran had initially issued 800 million Tomans bail for his release, which was reduced to 500 million tomans upon contesting the order.

Moradi was arrested on Apr 29, 2019 by security forces. He had a brief meeting with his family at the detention centre in Sanandaj in late August when he informed them of the interrogators’ pressure on him to make false confessions about involvement in a security scenario.

He was held at Kamyaran Prison due to his inability to pay the 800 million Tomans bail issued for his release by Sanandaj Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Revolutionary court.

He was transferred to Kamyaran Prison after the interrogation process ended.
