Pouria Ahmadi, head of the education unit of the Kurdistan branch of the National Unity Party was sentenced to three months and one day by Judge Saeedi at branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj in late March.

The trial of this Kurdish activist was held at the Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj on March 08. He was acquitted of charges of “participation in gatherings and collusion with the intent to disrupt the national security” and “membership in opposition parties” but he was convicted of “propaganda against the state.”The Kurdish activist had earlier been arrested on February 20, 2018, by the intelligence unit of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in Sanandaj, and was released on bail after 15 days of interrogation.He was hospitalized at Bassat Hospital in Sanandaj due to gastrointestinal bleeding during his detention.

He was arrested by security forces in Sanandaj on May 11 again and released after 10 days of interrogation at the Intelligence Bureau on a bail of 300 million tomans.
