Kurdish Turkey’s citizen Sardar Ozmush was detained by security forces in Orumiyeh on 20 December and transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison in Orumiyeh after 10 days of interrogation in a security detention center in the city, a source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Ozmush has been a political refugee in the Iraqi Kurdistan for 14 years. He had legally travelled to Iran after receiving Iraqi passports but he was detained by the security forces. Security forces have described the charge as “membership of one of the Kurdish opposition parties”. He is currently in temporary custody at Section 4-3 where Prisoners of ordinary Crimes are held.
