The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) learned that three Kurdish border porters –known as Kolbar-  have been wounded in the Salmas, Piranshahr and Sardasht border areas as a result of being shot by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military forces during the past three days.

According to reports received, border guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the border areas of Sardasht targeted a group of Kolbars on Friday, January 24, as a result of which Kurdish Kolbar Mohiendin Azizi was injured.Meanwhile, another young Kolbar Salar Rahmani has been shot and injured by the Iranian border guards and transferred to Salmas Medical Center in the Salmas border area.

Also on January 26, a group of Kolbars in the Qandil Frontier Heights of Piranshahr were targetted by the Iranian border guards and Kurdish Kolbar Asad Piri was injured. He was transferred to a hospital in Orumiyeh.

According to statistics compiled by KHRN, five Kurdish Kolbars were killed and ten others were wounded in a shooting in January this year. Moreover, three other Kolbars have been injured due to falling from altitudes.
