Iranian border guards directly shot a group of Kurdish border porters, known as Kolbar, and tradesmen in Kani Khoda area of Piranshahr on October 19, 2019 of which two Kolbars got injured, local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Bahman Chrik from Mahabad and Khalid (Family name Unknown) from Piranshahr were “severely” injured in the shooting, the source added. 

The two Kolbars were transferred to a medical centre in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. No details of their health are available at the time of airing the report.

On another hand, on October 17, 2019, a tradesman called Tahir Maghi, 27 years old, in the Sayarak highlands of Orumiyeh was targeted and wounded by direct shooting of an Iranian security checkpoints.

According to statistics compiled by the KHRN, at least four Kolbars and tradesmen have been killed while 10 others have been wounded in the border crossings since late September. Another Kolbar has been wounded in a landmine explosion.
