Kurdish Human Rights Network (KHRN): Following the closure of official Kolbari crossings, increasing inflation and unemployment rates in Kurdistan, more Kurdish citizens have turned into Kolbari. Meanwhile, a large number of kolbars have lost their life due to the direct shootings of Iranian forces, frostbite and falling from mountains. Since mid-April, two Kolbars and two tradesmen have been shot dead by Iranian forces while three others have been wounded. Another Kolbar has also lost his life due to falling from the mountains.

According to KHRN, a Kolbar “Hadi Musazadeh” in Baneh Mera located at the Nusoud border in Kermanshah, lost his life on the evening of May 8, 2019 due to falling from mountains after being ambushed by the special forces of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) known as Ansar al-Rasul. He was 45 years old and married with 5 children.

On May 04, border guards fired at a group of Kolbars from a nearby location at the Shoshami highlands. As a result, a civilian from Javanroud, “Sadegh Azizi” was shot dead by a bullet hit in his head. He was married and his wife is pregnant.

On May 1, 2019, two tradesmen “Nemat Seadat and Raof Khalidnezhad” in Shno were killed as a result of their vehicle being targeted by police forces.

On Apr 22, 2019, the border guards targeted a group of Kolbars. As a result, a 35-year-old kolbar, Taher Darang from the village of Sanjo of Sardasht, lost his life .

Moreover, several kolbars were injured by direct shooting of border guards since mid-April. A Number of these people have been identified as:
