Mohieddin Ebrahimi, a political prisoner detained at Orumiyeh Central Prison, was sentenced to death by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh on charges of membership in a Kurdish opposition party.

According to Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), Mohieddin Ebrahimi (the political prisoner from Shno) was wounded and arrested on Nov 3, 2017 at one of the villages of Shnoby Islamic Republic Guards Corp IRGC) forces when carrying goods across the border (Kulbari) . After being arrested, he was transferred to the Intelligence Detention Center of Orumiyeh where he was interrogated and severely tortured on charges of membership in one of the Kurdish parties.

The political prisoner was admitted to a hospital in Orumiyeh for two days before being transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Centre in Orumiyeh without further treatment. Following the interrogators on Dec 7, 2017, the prisoner was transferred to the Orumieyh Central Prison and was admitted to the prison clinic for 6 months.

The trial of this political prisoner was held in Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh on Aug 20, 2017, heeded by Judge Sheikhlo, while he did not have the right to have a lawyer and he was officially sentenced to death on Sept 23, 2018 f for membership in one of the Kurdish parties.

In the verdict, a copy of which was served on the political prisoner in the Enforcement Office (Ejraye Ahkam), the death sentence was only issued on the basis of the judge’s knowledge.

Mohieddin Ebrahimi, 40 years old and married from Shno, was arrested by security forces in 2010 on charges of cooperating with a Kurdish party but he was released from the Orumiyeh Central Prison after 14 months of imprisonment.

It should be noted that a brother of this political prisoner called Nouraldin Ebrahimi was killed last year by Iranian border guards during kolbari.
