The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) opened fire at a group of border porters known as Kolbar in the Sardasht area injuring Mohidin Khedri, Kolbar porter workers told Kurdistan Human Rights Netowork (KHRN). .

Moreover, Azad Nemati from from Sardasht, who was wounded last week in an IRGC raid, has remained at Orumiyeh Hospital.

KHRN has learnt from a source that his injury is “serious and is at the risk of disability due to being shot in his ankle”.

“On 9 September, IRGC forces stopped the Kolbar near the village of Beitoush in Sardasht and shot him in the leg following a verbal argument. The forces then abandoned him,” added the source.

Sardasht border areas have been heavily militarized by the IRGC, particularly in the vicinity of Qandil Mountains where new border posts have been built over the past few years.

According to statistics compiled by KHRN, at least two Kolbars have been killed and six others injured since the beginning of September.
